SEACeM provides assistance to independent online news media to migrate towards higher level of capability through organizational roadmapping, and direct technical assistance. An important aspect of our methodology is the SEACeM Media Maturity model. The maturity model consists of four components that are deemed important for the sustainability and growth of online media organizations. The following are the 4 important components:
Content: Content differentiation and editorial policy
Technology: Adoption of technology for managing content and news dissemination
Reach: Online marketing and publicity to promote news and portal branding
Finance: Development of business model or volunteer model for portal sustainability
Online media organizations can benefit through customized training sessions that address any of the above components, or can choose to conduct a project under the SEACeM Fellowship program.
